3. Does God Know Me?

3. Does God Know Me?
“O Lord you have searched me and know me.” [Psalms 139:1]
I think most of us could agree that, a God that formed the universe, all space, time and matter is able to know all things. How He knows all things is quite a mystery to us, but conceptually, we can agree that God knows everything. But does our belief change when the thought becomes personal, does God know me? Does he know all the details of my life? I mean, who am I anyways that God would pay attention to me? Does God even know me? Does he know where I am at, and what I am struggling with? We are going to press into this question today.
‘…you formed my inward parts, you knitted me together in my mothers womb…My frame was not hidden from you when I was being made in the secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. You saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, everyone of the days that were formed for me, before any of them ever happened.’ [Psalms 139:13-16]
Huh? The writer of the Psalms is describing this detailed knowledge of an almighty God with his creation, us. Seems so wild that God the Father would have intimate, intricate detail of our lives, even down the detailed knowledge of everyday we would live before we have even lived them. Even our names are known to God before we were even born. “…He was called Jesus, the name given by the angel (of God) before he was conceived in His mothers womb.” [Luke 2:21]. Does this encourage you? It should.
Amazing that God knows us, every detail and every day is numbered, but my question to you today is are you known eternally to God by your name being written in the “Book of Life”? Jesus says we should “rejoice that our names are written in heaven” [Luke 10:20]. Revelations 20 talks about names written into the book of life. Is you name written into the Book of Life? Does God know you eternally?

Here is a clue to how one gets their name written into the Book of Life;
“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall me saved.” [Romans 10:13]. And another,
“because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” [Romans 10:9-11]
